Rewriting the Narrative: How Sarah Infinger Lost 210 lbs, Finding Her Voice
It’s easy to forget who you are when other people decide it for you. Just four years ago, Sarah Infinger tried to break free from the mold that others had put her in. Whether it was her husband’s military career or being viewed as the ‘funny fat friend,’ Infinger was 371 pounds. She felt like she had lost herself, but it wasn’t for lack of trying.
After years of flitting between hobbies, school, and diets, Infinger lacked the motivation and passion to stick with a goal. Yet in March of 2021, she decided that enough was enough. Infinger chose to stop gliding through life and live by her own rules, nobody else’s.
Keeping her new mentality in mind, Infinger founded Sarah in All Sizes. It’s often much easier to help others find their voice than to do it yourself. However, Infinger was able to help herself by coaching others with honesty, compassion, and personal experience.
Success Is All About the Long Game
Going into her new endeavor, Infinger knew success wouldn’t come overnight. She approached her weight loss with medical support, consistent goals, and a shift in mindset. Infinger’s newfound focus on self-care included enrolling in a mortuary science degree program, with an emphasis on personal connection over talent.
Only two months into her schooling, Infinger scored a job and later graduated at the top of her class. Given the current job market’s uncertainty, that was no easy feat.
Infinger wasn’t just interested in self-betterment, either. She was determined to share her journey with others on social media, hoping to inspire others. Infinger crafted each post with intention, examining each layer of her story.
It wasn’t simply about weight loss, either. Through mental blocks and triumphing during hardship, Infinger persevered — and her efforts didn’t go unnoticed. She eventually amassed 1.5 million followers across various social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
Infinger Worked Through Self-Doubt to Get Ahead
The physical challenges of Infinger’s weight loss journey may have been complex, but they were nothing compared to her internal struggles. On top of frequently moving as a military spouse, Infinger was fairly nomadic.
She also faced challenges related to PCOS, all while working through the grief of losing her brother and one of her best friends.
Yet Infinger refused to give up, choosing to focus on showing up for herself daily. Now, she applies that same principle to her business. Infinger encourages her clients to follow in her footsteps even when they’re overwhelmed and unsure of where to begin.
What’s Next for Infinger?
Rather than sugarcoating the difficulties of her transformation, Infinger is all about transparency. She doesn’t pretend that the process is easy or that there won’t be setbacks. But it’s all about working through them. Infinger doesn’t expect perfection from herself or her clients.
Ultimately, Infinger is looking to expand her impact through public speaking, life coaching, and a book. She knows all too well how isolating life can be and that it sometimes feels like someone else is living it. Infinger persisted, and now she’s here to show others that by choosing themselves, you can begin writing your own story — no matter how futile it can feel.
