Integrating Nutraceuticals Into Digital Care: Evinature and SonarMD Test a New Path for IBD Management

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) continues to place enormous strain on health systems. With rising prevalence, costly biologic therapies, and frequent emergency interventions, both payers and clinicians are under pressure to find approaches that improve patient outcomes while keeping unnecessary utilization in check. A Pilot Designed for Clinical Integration, Not Supplements-on-the-Side

The two companies announced a pilot project that will integrate Evinature’s CurQD® formulation directly into SonarMD’s digital care pathway for eligible patients. Unlike traditional nutraceutical use, which often occurs outside physician oversight, this approach integrates a research-backed intervention into an existing coordinated care ecosystem.

Evinature’s CurQD® has been the subject of multiple peer-reviewed studies, cited in the European ECCO Nutritional Guidelines, and adopted by more than 40 U.S. medical centers. By placing CurQD within SonarMD’s continuous monitoring model, the partnership aims to evaluate how a clinically studied nutraceutical performs when paired with real-time patient tracking and provider-guided care.

SonarMD CEO Beth Houck emphasized that this initiative gives patients access to alternatives that meet clinical standards, noting that the partnership represents “an opportunity to provide patients with access to clinically-validated alternatives for their chronic disease.” Her view underscores a broader shift: nutraceuticals are increasingly expected to prove their value within the same frameworks used for medical therapies.

For Evinature, the pilot aligns with its scientific mission. Co-Founder Nir Salomon highlighted that the collaboration “exemplifies our mission to bridge scientific rigor with real-world healthcare delivery,” adding that integrating CurQD into formal care pathways allows the team to examine how nutritional interventions can enhance patient experience and deliver measurable value to providers and payers.

Real-World Data as the Edge

Under the pilot, which is set to launch in early 2026, SonarMD will collaborate with participating GI providers to identify eligible patients, guide them through the CurQD protocol, and gather real-world data throughout the process. The analysis will focus on three areas central to value-based care: patient well-being, treatment adherence, and reductions in avoidable high-cost settings such as emergency departments and inpatient facilities.

SonarMD’s platform is already designed to detect early signs of IBD deterioration, enabling providers to intervene before patients require emergency escalation. By layering CurQD into that model, the companies hope to understand better whether a clinically tested nutraceutical can serve as a meaningful adjunct to standard care, not just in theory, but in day-to-day patient journeys.

If the results are promising, the findings could help pave the way for expanding the protocol across payer networks and integrated delivery systems. Given the increasing pressure to simultaneously improve outcomes and reduce costs, such data carries outsized importance.
